"CONTEMPORARY ABSTRACT ARTIST"

"All the time I'm spending on paintings and sketches of drawings literally stops me from daily thinking and worrying. It is like a stream of pure clear energy. When you're standing in front of a plain canvas and dive yourself into your inner thoughts, you simply unplug your mind" - Tomas Morch

MATERIAL: MDF BOARD, SIZE: 120 CM X 110 CM, MEDIUM: ACRYLIC COLOURS

IT'S A PAINTING IN WHICH TOMAS HAD AN INTUITION TO REPREZENT JAPANESE CULTURE AND TIGER ANIMALS IN ONE MEANING TOGETHER.

THE JAPANESE SIGN LETTER MEANS "TIGER" AND AS AN AUTHOR I FEEL TO EXPRESS MARTIAL ARTS, INTEGRITY OF WARRIOR, SAMURAI CODEX AND A BUSHIDO INFLUENCE ON ME WHEN I STUDIED SHOTOKAN KARATE, WHICH MY FATHER TRAINED ME SINCE MY CHILDHOOD.

SHOTOKAN KARATE WHICH IS LINKED TO TIGER ANIMAL SYMBOL, AN AGGRESSION EXPRESSED BY BLOOD STAINS IS QUITE OBVIOUS, YET THE PAINTING IS IN CONCEPT OF BALANCE BETWEEN "YIN YANG" WITHIN BUDHIST PHILOSOPHY.

WHAT YOU ACTUALLY SEE AND WHAT I CAPTURED IN THIS

PIECE OF ART IS MERELY EXOTIC, ETHNIC AND ALSO A MODERN ABSTRACT EXPRESSION OF EASTERN CULTURES, THEIR CHARACTERISTIC MARTIAL ART AND THEIR SYMBOLISMS.
